Jessica Lauren Jordan

January 29, 1986 — May 12, 2018

“To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven: A time to be born, and a time to die.” – Ecclesiastes 3

In the very cold, wintery season of January 1986, Jessica Lauren entered this world on the snowy morning of January 29th. Born with her daddy's blue eyes, and her mommy's red hair, she was the most beautiful child we'd ever seen. As seasons changed and Jessica grew, she loved to dance, with tap and ballet lessons beginning at age 4. Her first friends were her siblings and her "Cousin Scott". Jessica was active in her church. Some of her most treasured memories included participating in youth group, going to Sunday School (which often lead to a trip to the mini-mart with her favorite teacher Dexter Barbee and the other teens to get now & laters and a Mountain Dew), and babysitting her sweet church friends, Josie and Nora Mansfield. As a teenager, Jessica enjoyed being part of the volleyball team, playing softball, cheerleading, and playing the flute in the band. Jessica graduated from Graham High School in June 2004. A few years later, the most important season of Jessica's life came in the summer of 2007, when her little sunshine, Charlotte Jane, was born. Charlotte was Jessica's world, she loved that little girl more than anything. Jessica and Charlotte enjoyed spending time together, whether they were making slime, playing with the family dogs, Savannah and Izzy, or listening to country music together. Every moment was precious. But as seasons end often too quickly, Jessica left us entirely too soon to be with her Heavenly Father on Saturday, May 12th, 2018. Jessica is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Jane Moorefield of Graham; parents Steve and Robin Jordan of Graham; brother Stevie Jordan (Aaron Cardwell) of Burlington; sister Kaitlin Jordan Mitchell (Walter) of Pensacola, Florida; sister Hannah Jordan of Graham; uncle Jimmy Jordan of Graham; aunt Cheryl Fines (Richard Farinholt) of Virginia; aunt Melody Higginbotham (Gary) of Kentucky, aunt Candis Fuquay of North Carolina; and uncle Buddy Cobb (Becky) of Elon, as well as many cousins and other family members. Jessica is preceded in death by her grandmother Betty Cobb; grandfather L.H. "George" Jordan, and grandmother Alberta "Wilson" Jordan. A celebration of Jessica's life will be held on Friday, May 18th at Faith United Methodist Church, 1732 West Davis St., Burlington NC. The family will receive visitors at 1p.m., a Celebration of Her Life will take place at 2 p.m.; with interment at Alamance Memorial Park immediately following. In lieu of flowers, a fund has been created for Charlotte at North Carolina State Employee’s Credit Union (NC SECU), 2623 Alamance Rd, Burlington, NC 27215. Jessica's family wishes to thank friends and family for your love and support during this most difficult time.
