Jeter Clarence James, Jr. 69 years of age of Dallas, Texas died Saturday, November 25 in Plano, Texas. He was with his sister, Teena James Petree and his brother in law, Charles Petree. He was born May 3, 1948 to Jeter Clarence James, Sr. and Ernestine Hamby James in Mebane, NC Jeter lived the majority of his life in Mebane. He enjoyed his employment while working with his father and uncles in their furniture and appliance business, James Electric and Furniture Co. for many years. He was a very hard worker both in his father’s business and in yard work where he thoroughly enjoyed all types of machinery and willingly helped anyone who needed his assistance. He attended the First Baptist Church for the many years he resided in Mebane. Jeter “never met a stranger” and enjoyed everyone he came in contact with. He was a sweet reminder to family and friends of how to accept and love others as they were. He will be so missed by his family and those who knew him. Jeter is survived by his sister Teena James Petree (Charles Petree) of Plano, Texas, his sister Suzanne James Dail (Joey Dail) of Mebane, Nephew Cade Riley of Plano, Texas, Niece Lindsey Dail Blankenhorn of Raleigh, NC. Nephew Joseph Dail of Mebane, NC, Great Niece Daniella Riley of Plano, Texas Great Nephew Nicholaz Riley of Plano, Texas and Great Niece Ada Hamby Blankenhorn of Raleigh, NC. Jeter was preceded in death by his parents Jeter Clarence James Sr. and his mother Ernestine Hamby James and his niece Natalie Lynn Riley. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on December 16, 2017 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane. Officiating will be the pastor Teena Burton. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.
