Jo Ann Gabrielson Schwarm

Mrs. Jo Ann Gabrielson Schwarm, 76, of Graham, NC, passed away on Tuesday September 18, 2018 at her residence. A native of Johnson Co. Iowa, she was the daughter of the late Albert and Mary Alice Shields Gabrielson. Her joy and love was her family as she always went out of her way to look after others. You could always find her and Ron working in their garden. She loved to plant her flowers and vegetables to share with her family and friends. She loved to fish and teach her grandchildren and great grandchildren how to catch a fish. Jo Ann had worked as a manager with the Waffle House in Hillsborough for numerous years. Survivors include her husband of 35 years, Ronald Michael “Ron” Schwarm; her children, Kathy Allmond (Roger), Denise Turman (David), Tina McCoy (Chris), Matthew Brubaker (Angie) and Melissa Cone; a sister, Martha LaMaack (Dennis); grandchildren, David Thornton, Michael Walls, Mark Willoughby, Joshua Cone, Chris Hollowell, Darcie Hair, Matthew Cone, Tabitha Brubaker, and Joanie Valdez; great grandchildren, Gage, Treasure, and Gabriel Thornton, Hunter, Spencer, and Harley Willoughby, Wyatt Hollowell, Faith and Sofia Hair, Kaelynn and Mykenzie Cone, Olivia and Christian Valdez; and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers, Gordon, Ronald, and Jon Armstrong; son in laws, Robert Cone and Jessie Walls; and her loving grandchildren, Jessica Walls and Jonathan Willoughby. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday September 22, 2018 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with the Pastor John W. Johnson officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until 1:00 PM on Saturday prior to the service and other times at the residences of her daughter Kathy Allmond at 1315 Dogwood Dr. Gibsonville. Memorial may be made to the make A Wish Foundation or to The Little Pink Houses Of Hope.
