Joan Conway Cook

Apr 23, 1935 — Aug 9, 2026

Joan Conway Cook, 91, of Graham, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, August 9, 2026. Born to the late Chester Walter and Helen Roberts Conway, Joan was a devoted follower of Jesus who cherished her family above all else. Her greatest joy and most treasured accomplishment in life was raising Godly children and instilling in them the love and teachings of Jesus.

Joan treasured the memories made with her family, especially the times they gathered together to celebrate Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. She also loved family trips to the beach, where she enjoyed making special memories with those she loved most. In her free time, Joan enjoyed sewing and had a special love for flowers. She found joy in the simple beauty of God's creation and in the time spent with the people who meant the most to her.

Her greatest lesson in life was simple yet profound: Jesus is Lord. Her faith was at the center of who she was, and her love for her Lord and Savior guided the way she lived her life. Above all else, Joan loved Jesus and her family. Her love, faith, and devotion will remain a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew and loved her. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Jim Cook; her sons, Kevin Cook (Tracy), Craig Cook (Rachel), Carlton Cook (Karen), and Christopher Cook (Courtney); her grandchildren, Erin Clapp (Caleb), Mikaela Johnston (Will), Morgan Cook, Jenna Gilliam (Jacob), Madi Cook, Nathan Cook, Jadyn Patrick (Will), Daniel Cook, Ethan Cook, and Anna Cook; and her great grandchildren, Peyton Clapp, Owen Clapp, Ellie Johnston, Marley Clapp, Ryder Johnston, and Davis Johnston.

A funeral service will be held to honor her life on Saturday, August 15, 2026, beginning at 1:30pm at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane. The family will receive friends prior to the service at the funeral home from 12:00pm-1:30pm. A private family burial will follow the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Hope Church: 1606 W. Davis St. Burlington, NC 27215.
