Joe Allen Bailey Jr.

On Friday, August 10, 2018, J. Allen Bailey Jr., loving husband and father of three, went home to be with the Lord at the age of 71. Allen was born on June 28, 1947 in Oak Park, IL to J. Allen Bailey Sr. and Myrtle Holly Bailey. He served with Awana International for 31 years. He also served as a Christian school principal, youth pastor, and a missionary for Awana Clubs in North Carolina. On June 26, 1969, he married Marion Carmen Clark. They raised two sons, Jeff and Jason, and a daughter, Laura. He loved his three children and six grandchildren. He had a passion for ministry, especially Awana. He enjoyed reaching children for Christ. Allen touched many people's lives through his service to the Lord. He was admired for his joyful and humble attitude. He often expressed the importance of being a faithful servant of Christ. The engraving on his headstone, "May all who come behind us find us faithful", summarizes his life. Allen was preceded in death by his father, J. Allen Sr., his mother, Myrtle, and his brother, Paul. He is survived by his wife Marion, his three children, Jeff, Jason, and Laura, and six grandchildren. There will be no funeral service per Allen's request.
