Joe Thomas Jr.

Mr. Joe Thomas Jr., 81, of Burlington, NC, passed away on Sunday August 1, 2015 at the Hospice Home of Alamance/Caswell. A native of Person County, NC, he was the son of the late Joe Thomas Sr. and Minnie Webster Thomas. He was a veteran of the US ARMY and a retired painter. His life’s work was that he was an Evangelist and he was never ashamed of the Lord Jesus Christ. Survivors include his wife, Maxine Holder Thomas, of the home; sons, Phillip Thomas and wife Tammy, Michael Thomas and wife Carolyn, and Joseph Reuben Thomas; 13 grandchildren, and many loving great grandchildren; sister Alice Slaughter. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday August 5, 2015 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with the Rev. Jim Florence, Rev. Mike Hurt and Mr. Phillip Thomas officiating. The burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM on Tuesday August 4, 2015 at the McClure Funeral Home in Graham and other times at 504 Brax Ct. Graham.
