Johanna Szymankiewicz Strickland, 76, of Burlington, NC, passed away on Thursday march 28, 2019 at Liberty Commons in Burlington. A native of Passaic County, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Johanna Babbitz Szymankiewicz. Johanna was retired from WestPoint Stephens and was a member of North Graham Baptist Church. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. Johanna loved the Lord and she enjoyed reading her Bible. Survivors include her daughter, Sandra S. Michael and husband Buddy, of Burlington; sons, Billy Ray Strickland Jr. and wife Cathy, of Burlington, Brian Strickland and significant other, Teresa of Burlington and Walter Ray Strickland and wife Donna, of Reidsville; 6 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; sisters, Josephine Malonie and Bernice Robertson and her bothers, Walter and Ronald Szymankiewicz. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Strickland Sr. and a brother, Raymond Stevens. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Saturday March 30, 2019 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with the Pastor Jeff McCann officiating. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in Saturday at the funeral home and other times at the residence of the son, Billy Strickland.
