John Preston Boswell

John Preston Boswell, Jr., 82, of Burlington passed away Wednesday, Nov. 11, 2015 at his residence. John was born in Alamance County to the late John Preston Boswell, Sr. and Lillian Walker Boswell. He served his country in the US Air Force. He served as the Alamance County Agriculture Commissioner for over 40 years. John was a member of Union Ridge Church and a member of the Pleasant Grove Civitan Club. He was also a former president of the Pleasant Grove PTA. John is survived by his wife, Zuma Boswell of Burlington. Sons: Shawn P. Boswell (Rhonda) of Burlington, Jeffrey Boswell (Marcia) of Burlington, and Jason Boswell (Ashley) of Raleigh. Grandchildren, Tyler, Courtney, Hayley, Jos, Luc. Great Grandchildren, Addison, Landon, Mila, Willow. Sisters, Janet Lee and Rachel Page both of Burlington. Brother, Charles Boswell of Wentworth, NC. Other than his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Carolyn Zimmerman Boswell. Son, Steven Levi Boswell. Sister, Catherine Boswell. A funeral service will be held Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015 at 3:00 PM at Union Ridge Church. Officiating will be Rev. Dan Ficklin and Rev, Phil Hardy. Burial with Military Honors will follow in the church cemetery. The Family will receive friends from 1:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the service. Other times they will be at the residence.
