John Albert Byrd Sr.

Mr. John Albert Byrd Sr., 71, of Burlington, NC passed away January 12, 2023. Mr. Byrd was born November 15, 1951, in Alamance County, North Carolina to Gattis and Ruth Byrd. John was a loving husband, father, and grandpa. He enjoyed days that were spent with his family and on the family farm. He found peace riding the tractors through the fields.

Mr. Byrd was preceded in death by his father, Gattis Byrd and his son, John Byrd Jr.

Survivors other than his wife, Jackie of the home, include his daughter, Kimberly Byrd of the home; his mother, Ruth Byrd; his grandchildren, John III “Trace”, Allie, and Johna Byrd; and his brothers Michael Byrd (Sharon) and Tommy Byrd (Jennifer) both of Burlington.

A gathering to celebrate the life of Mr. Byrd will be held at Mt. Zion Christian Church in Mebane, NC on Monday, January 16, 2023 at 2:00pm.  The family will receive friends an hour prior at the church.
