BURLINGTON - John William "Dub" Trollinger Jr., 88, of 2184 Carolina Road, passed away Wednesday, March 25, 2015, at Hospice Home in Burlington. Mr. Trollinger was born in Alamance County. A retired contractor, he was a member of Carolina Christian Church and a founding member and former chief of the Faucette Fire Department. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Phillips Trollinger, of the home; sons, Greg Trollinger and wife Karen of Burlington and Tony Trollinger and wife Linda of Haw River; grandsons, Matt and Caleb Trollinger. He was preceded in death by his parents, John William Trollinger Sr. and Helen Reynolds Trollinger; granddaughter, Jordan Trollinger; and sisters, Charlotte Trollinger and Ernestine Moody. A funeral service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 28, 2015, at Carolina Christian Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Mark Mitchell and the Rev. Reid Dickens. Burial will follow in Carolina Community Cemetery. The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral and Cremation Service in Graham from 6 until 8 Friday evening. At other times they will be at the residence. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance/Caswell, 914 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215. The family would like to thank all the staff at Hospice Home, especially to Tina and Rosa. They would also like to thank the Faucette Fire Department for all their help.
