John Wayne Jarrett

John Wayne Jarrett, 79, went home to be with the Lord on January 1, 2023.  He was the son of the late Marvin Stafford Jarrett and Virgie Lee Edwards. He spent his working years at GE retiring as a welder after 28 years. John had a love for many things which included his church home and playing the guitar. He will be remembered as a great father and husband who always kept a special place in his heart for his family.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Eugene Jarrett.

Mr. Jarrett is survived by his wife, Joan Jarrett; his children, Tanya Keeter (Chris), Wayna Kelly, and Johnny Jarrett; his grandchildren, DJ Price, Samantha Massey (Preston), Christopher Jarrett, Malana Mullens (Brandon), Christina Ashley (Isaac), Brianna Sharpe (Kaleb), and Savannah Kelly; five great-grandchildren; his brothers, Marvin Jarrett, Larry Jarrett (Phyllis), and Henry Jarrett; and his sisters, Augustine Halloway (Ricky), Bonnie Hensley, and Brenda Teague (Billy).

A service will be held at Florence Memorial Baptist Church on Thursday, January 05, 2023, beginning at 2pm. A visitation will be held for the family to receive friends on Wednesday, January 04, 2023 from 6pm-8pm at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane.
