John Hobbs, Jr.

John T. Hobbs, Jr., 88, of Graham passed away Tuesday, May 1, 2018 at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill, NC. John was born in Orange County to John T. Hobbs, Sr. and Maude Pall Jobe Hobbs both deceased. John was retired from the US Air Force with 30 years service in the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War. He was also a member of Mt. Hermon United Methodist Church.

John is survived by his wife, Peggy B. Hobbs of the home. Son, Gary R. Hobbs (Janette) of Sun City, Arizona. Stepson, Terry L. Jordan (Cheryl) of Thomasville, NC. Grandchildren, Keith Hobbs, Mark Hobbs, Lee Hobbs. Step Grandchildren, Brooke Oldham, Casey McLeod, and Zac Oldham. Two great grandchildren and five step great grandchildren. Sister, Dorothy Hobbs Wheeler of Mebane, NC. He was preceded in death by other than hid parents, first wife, Janet Hobbs. Brothers, Wesley Elmer Hobbs and Thomas Merrill Hobbs and a sister, Elizabeth Hobbs Copeland.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 3:00 PM at Mt Hermon United Methodist Church. Officiating will be Reverend Amanda Dixon. The committal service with full military honors will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Mebane, NC. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:00 PM until 3:00 PM prior to the service.
