John Spurgeon Lee Jr.

Mr. John Spurgeon Lee Jr. 91 of Mebane, NC, passed away on Thursday November 7, 2019 at his residence. A native of Lee County, NC, he was the son of the late John Sr. and Myrtle Richardson Lee Williams. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to anyone who met him. He was known for always looking out for others before his own needs. He and his wife loved their time at Atlantic Beach and in Gloucester, NC. John was retired from AT&T as a machinist and had worked as a security guard alongside his wife for a number of years. His love and joy was cars, airplanes and his grandchildren. John was a proud veteran of the US Airforce also serving in the US National Guard as well as the State Guard here in North Carolina. John was a member of The Lamb's Chapel and loved his church dearly. Surviving is his son, Robert K. Lee and wife Sharron, of Ringgold, VA; his 11 grandchildren and many loving Great Grandchildren; sister, Carolyn Moize, of Burlington; brothers, Howard Lee and wife Cora, of Asheboro, Eddie Lee and Ricky Lee and wife Judy, both of Burlington and his loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Emily Genevieve Faulk Lee; his daughters, Brenda Kingsland and Teresa Sharpe; a son, Tommy Lee Page; grandson, Tony Rice; sister, Bessie Lee Jarrett and his brother, Robert Erwin Lee. A funeral service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday November 13, 2019 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 PM on Tuesday November 12, 2019 at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane and other times at the residence of the family which is located at 702 N. 3rd St, Mebane, NC, 27302.
