Mr. John “Johnny” Woodrow Reese, Sr. , 69, of 454 Brown Road, passed away surrounded by his family on Monday, February 26, 2018 at Wesley Long Hospital in Greensboro. He was born September 29, 1948 to the late Garland Reese and Mozella Hughes Reese.
John was a veteran of the United States Army and looked forward to seeing his grandson, Cameron, graduate from basic training in March. He retired from truck driving several years ago. He enjoyed fishing especially when he was able to take his grandsons along. He loved his four-legged companions, Smokie and Susie. John had a unique sense of humor and will be greatly missed by all who loved him.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Shelia D. Reese; a son, John W. “Woody” Reese, Jr.; two daughters, Michelle L. Williams and husband Lonnie, and Tabitha W. Baker; four grandsons, Aaron J. Short and wife Courtney, Brandon S. Williams, Joshua R. Baker, and PVT. Cameron M. Baker; two granddaughters, Caitlyn D. Short and Kelsey M. Baker (Jordan); two great-grandsons, Carter Ryan and Grayson Leigh; numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Blanch Ann Slate; three brothers, Kenneth Reese, Bobby Reese, and Donald Reese; and his precious great-grandson, Lane William Short.
His family will receive friends on Friday, March 2, 2018, at McClure Funeral Home in Graham from 6 to 8 p.m. A graveside service will held Saturday, March 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM in Alamance Memorial Park. Officiating will be Rev. Clay Bowman. Condolences may be offered at www.mcclurefuneralservice.net
