LIBERTY - John Wesley Stewart Jr., 79, son of the late John and Edna Stewart, went to be with Jesus on Saturday November 9th, 2013. "Big John" is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margie Strickland Stewart of Snow Camp; his brother Hal "Red" Stewart and wife Judy of Burlington; his sisters Carolyn McAdams and Shelba Ward of Ramseur; his son John Stewart and daughter-in-law Karen of Snow Camp; daughters Betty Hatten of Burlington, Robin Ramos and husband Frank of Charlotte; 10 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Stewart, Calvin Stewart, and Daniel Stewart. "Big John" touched the hearts and was loved by many and will be dearly missed by all. His family will hold fond memories of his great love for fishing, fixing cars, Atlanta Braves baseball, country music, and making people laugh. A service will be conducted on Tuesday, November 12, at 2:00PM at the McClure Funeral Chapel in Graham, 1030 S. Main St., Graham. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 12 to 2 prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Alamance Memorial Park. Conducting the service will be Dr. Donald Carter.
