John Chris Teague

John Christopher “Chris” Teague, 72, of Snow Camp, NC passed away Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at UNC Hospitals, Chapel Hill. Chris was born in Alamance County to Henry Clay Teague and Ada Lee Griffin Thompson, formerly Ada Lee Griffin Teague, both deceased. Chris was retired from the UNC Public Safety Department, where he loved and was well loved by his employees and co-workers. Chris was a loving Christian, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He was a great friend and mentor to all who were blessed to know him. Whether it was his appetite, or his heart, he wasn’t called “Big Teague” for nothing. He enjoyed everything with his family from grilling and eating out, to camping, boating and fishing. He never missed a Wake Forest basketball game unless it interfered with watching his grandchildren play sports. He was a jokester and a wheeler-dealer. He loved taking his beloved Cody on golf cart and truck rides, as well as bragging on his grandchildren. Chris is survived by his wife, Sylvia Boggs Teague. Sons, Clay Teague and his wife Brandy, and Seth Teague. Grandchildren, Natalie Teague and Nathan Teague. Sisters, Betsy McKee and her husband John and Henrietta Donner. In addition to his parents, Chris was also preceded in death by his stepdad, Ernest Thompson. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 5, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Hill Christian Church. Officiating will be Rev. Howard Spray and Rev. Mark Tope. Burial will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 4, 2024 from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM at McClure Funeral Home in Graham.
