Joseph Daniel Johnson

Joe Johnson, 81, passed away on April 17, 2016 at Peak Resources in Graham. He was a veteran of The U.S. Army and retired from Burlington Industries. He was a member of Concord United Methodist Church and loved NASCAR and the Atlanta Braves. In his later years, he enjoyed having breakfast at Hardee’s with his breakfast buddies. Survivors include his sister, Mildred Greenway (Eugene) of Wilmington, a host of nieces and nephews and a special friend Steve Stout (Carolyn). He was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Rogers Johnson, parents; Taylor and Cleta McBane Johnson, brothers; Frank, Fred, Charles “Jack” and Herman Johnson. A funeral service will be held on Wednesday April 20, 2016 at 2:00pm in the McClure Funeral Chapel in Graham with the Rev. Steve Loy officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday from 1-2 at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Concord United Methodist Church Cemetery.
