Joseph "Bud" Jones Carroll Jr.

MEBANE - Mr. Joe Carroll Jr., 88, passed away Nov. 30, 2014, at his residence.He was the son of the late Joseph John Carroll Sr. and Matilda Jones Carroll. He attended Oak Ridge Military Academy and UNC - Chapel Hill. Bud was an avid golfer and held the course record at Dogwood Golf Course where he was also the golf pro. He was a member of the American Legion Post 95 and VFW Post 1920. He was a member of Mebane United Methodist Church as well as a Charter Member of Mebane Historical Society.Survivors include his wife, Betty Margaret Morris Carroll; sons, John Morris Carroll (Alisha) of Concord and Michael Douglas Carroll (Pat) of Graham; grandchildren, Jordan Morris Carroll and Taylor Marie Carroll; sister, Jane Brooks Carroll McCoy; and nieces, Carroll, Marsha, Priscilla, Sherry, Stephanie, Beth and a lifelong friend and classmate Bill Ed McPherson. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, at McClure Funeral and Cremation Service in Mebane. The funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel by Mr. Rowen Grant.
