Joseph "Dale" Sharpe

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Joseph Dale Sharpe, 63, of Burlington, NC, on August 29, 2026.

Dale was born on September 16, 1962, in Florida. He grew up and lived in Burlington, NC, for his whole life.

He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Donna Sharpe; his 3 children, Joseph Dale Sharpe Jr. (Kim), Amy Hardison (Judy), and Drew Tyler Sharpe; and 9 grandchildren, Autumn, Katelyn, Peyton, and Gavin Sharpe, Haley and Ty Hardison, and Ashley, Madilynne, and Drew Tyler Sharpe Jr.

He is preceded in death by his mother, Sherry Sharpe; grandfather, Norman Hudgins; and grandmother, Helon Grayson.

Dale was a proud graduate of Hugh M Cummings High School, Class of 1980, and proudly served in the US Air Force from 1980–1984.

He was a tool maker at ECI for 33 years. He loved working on cars with his sons, drinking Mello Yello, and playing online video games. Most of all, he loved his family and the time spent making memories with them.

His love and laughter will live on in our hearts forever. He will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 Pm on Friday September 4, 2026, at Alamance Memorial Park in Burlington. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 Pm on Thursday September 3, 2026, at the McClure Funeral Home in Graham. Both are open to the public.
