Josephine "Jo" Carroll Norris

Mrs. Josephine Carroll “Jo” Norris, 92, of Burlington, NC, passed away on Monday April 29, 2019 at the Alamance Regional Medical Center in Burlington. A native of Durham Co. NC, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Mary Carroll. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and she married her best friend when she married her husband Earl. She loved animals of all kinds, especially enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels no matter where she was. At the end of the day, she enjoyed a good cup of coffee and a ham biscuit as much as anything. Surviving are her children, Norman Norris and wife Marisol, of Burlington, Wanda Turner and Husband Tony, of England, Debora Derr and husband Frank, of Rocky Mount and Sandra King and husband Henry, of Bostic, NC; 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Seth “Earl” Norris and her sons, Warren and Karl Norris. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Thursday May 2, 2019 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham. Burial will follow in Pine Hill Cemetery in Burlington. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Thursday and other times at the residence of her son Norman. The family of Mrs. Norris wouild like to extend a special thank you to the staff and nurses at Brookdale Assisted Living for their love, care and compassion shown to her over the past months and during this difficult time. We love you all.
