She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend to many. Mrs. Coulon was a native of Rockingham County and was a homemaker. She was a lifelong member of Victory Chapel Wesleyan Church, and enjoyed collecting lighthouses among other things.Survivors include her daughter, Peggy Herring Foust and special friend Mack Riley, of Snow Camp; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 13 great-great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Margaret R. Herring of Snow Camp.Other than her parents, she is preceded in death by her husbands, D.L. Herring Sr. and Harry J. Coulon; sons, D.L. Herring Jr., Billy Ray Herring, James W. Herring, Roger W. Herring, and Roy D. Herring; sister, Janie Shoe; brothers, Hubert Smith, William "Bill" Smith, and Lennie McAdoo Smith; grandson, Gregory Herring; great-grandson, Joshua W. Thomas and great-great-grandson, Hayden Wheeler.A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 14, 2013 at the Victory Chapel Wesleyan Church with the Rev. Ray Brim and the Rev. Phillip Thomas.
