Joy Mae (Draughn) Meeks

Mrs. Joy Mae Meeks, 82, of Kernersville, NC passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024 at Kerners Ridge. Mrs. Meeks was an Alamance County native and was the daughter of the late John Allen and Ollie Mae Draughn. Joy graduated from Alexander Wilson, class of 1959, with the honor of class valedictorian. Mrs. Meeks spent her working years as a clerk and business owner.

In addition to her parents, Joy is preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Charles F. Meeks, Jr.

Mrs. Meeks is survived by her sons, James Allen Meeks (Jeanette), and John F. Meeks (Renee); her grandchildren, Jessi Meeks, J.J. Meeks (Ashley), Gavin Meeks, Allorah Meeks, and Autumn Meeks; her sister, Lucille Brooks; and her nephews, Chase Brooks, Mike Brooks, and Brandon Brooks.

A service will be held on Friday, February 23, 2024 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham, beginning at 1:00pm. Burial will follow the service at Graham Memorial Park.
