Joyce Kay Travis

Joyce Kay Clark Travis, 78, of Efland, North Carolina passed away peacefully on September 21, 2022 at Alamance Regional Hospital.  She was born on September 24, 1943 in Chapel Hill, North Carolina to the late Walter E. Clark and the late Ellen Ball Clark. Kay is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Jerry L. Travis of Efland, children:  Jimmy Travis (Donna) of Efland, Carolyn Travis McDonald (Paul) of Efland, sister:  Patricia Clark of Durham, grandchildren: Amanda Travis of Elon, Katie Travis (Randall Benton) of Graham, Tyler McDonald (Lindsey) of Mebane and Ashley McDonald of Efland.  She was preceded in death by her father, Walter E. Clark and mother, Ellen Ball Clark and her sister Charlene McFarling. Kay retired from Blue Cross and Blue Shield in Durham with over 28 years of service where she was an underwriter.  She was a loving, kind and caring wife, mother, grandmother and sister.  She loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.  The family would like to send a special thank you to her caregivers, Mrs. Glenda Callahan and Ms. Jeanne Brooks for all the love, care and compassion they showed her.A graveside service will be held at 1pm on Tuesday September 27, 2022 at Lebanon United Methodist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Rich Vaughn officiating.
