Judith "Judy" Harris Wiles

Judith Harris Wiles 78 of Chapel Hill passed away peacefully on July 12 at UNC Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Mrs. Wiles was born on March 3, 1943 to the late Charles and Evelyn Harris. She lived in Chapel Hill NC with her husband of 36 years Wayne until his passing in 2002. Judy was a member of Antioch Baptist Church in Chapel Hill where she enjoyed teaching and loving God’s children by teaching, VBS, Sunday School and Awana’s.

Mrs. Wiles is survived by her children Missy Underwood, Amanda (Rob) Maddry, and Mike Wiles. Grandchildren Maggie (DJ) Lamm, Zachary Underwood, Sarah Maddry, Joshua Underwood, Daniel Maddry, and Dustin Maddry. All of whom she adored but the real highlight of the last several years of her life was her Great Grandchildren Blake and Zoey Lamm. She is also survived by Sister Betsy Wilmoth, Sister- in-law Karen Pardue (Dan), and Brother’s-in-law Ronnie Ray (Kathy) and Steve Ray (Ailene) as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Mrs. Wiles was proceeded in death by husband Wayne Wiles, parents Charles and Evelyn Harris, and in-laws Ford and Nell Ray.

The family will receive friends on Saturday July 17, 2021 from 10am-11am at Antioch Baptist Church.  A funeral service will follow at 11am.  Burial will take place in the church cemetery.
