Judith Lunsford-Atkins, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025, at the age of 84. Born on November 6, 1940, Judith's life was a tapestry of devotion to her family, a passion for the simple pleasures in life, and an unwavering spirit of joy that touched all who knew her.
Judith's legacy is lovingly carried on by her sons, Michael L. Lunsford and his wife Tammy, Donald B. Lunsford and his wife Michele; her daughter, Sherri L. Reel; and her sister, Deborah Wiles and her husband Gary; three step children, Ruby Atkins and her husband Jim, Velinda Atkins and David, Calvin Atkins and Valerie; seven grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and five step grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Carl C. Atkins; her parents, Morris and Ethel Hudgins; her brothers, Allen Hudgins and Neal Hudgins; and her son, Thomas Edward "Eddie" Lunsford Jr.
A master of crocheting, Judith created countless treasures that warmed the hearts and homes of her loved ones. Her hands were rarely still, as she found solace and joy in the intricate patterns. Judith's love for travel took her to the serene beaches and majestic mountains, where she found great peace and rejuvenation. She was the architect of family gatherings, weaving together moments that would become cherished memories, and ensuring that laughter and love were always on the menu.
Judith's affection for her dogs, Lady and Daisey, was a testament to her kind and nurturing soul. They were not just pets but members of the family, who brought her immeasurable comfort and companionship.
A funeral service will be held at 1pm on Friday April 18, 2025 in the McClure Funeral Chapel in Graham. The family will receive friends on Friday at the funeral home from 12pm-1pm. At other times they will be at the residence. Burial will follow in Alamance Memorial Park.
