Julliette “Julie” Amash Church passed away peacefully on Thursday evening, April 17th, 2025, at 4:20pm surrounded by love and grace. Born on December 30, 1954 in Augusta Victoria Hospital in Jerusalem. Julie was the beloved daughter of Joseph Jiries Amash and Genevieve Kahoush.
Julie lived a life rooted in quiet faith, deep devotion to her family, and a nurturing spirit that extended far beyond her own. Though private by nature, she gave of herself wholly to the ones she loved and perhaps most notably, to all children. While she adored her 5 grandchildren with all her heart, it was her ability to offer warmth and guidance to any child who needed it that defined her legacy of compassion.
A lifelong lover of nature, Julie found joy in her garden, where she spent countless hours tending to her plants, planning her next season’s layout before the current blooms had even faded along side of her best friend and favorite trouble maker with 4 paws, Alice. Her yard was her sanctuary-a reflection of her thoughtful, steady and nurturing soul.
Julie married the love of her life, James Brackston (Brack) Church on the evening of February 1, 1979, in the Caswell County Courthouse. Together they built a family full of love, music, and beachside memories.
She is survived by her children, Crystal Church, Regina Church, Neil Church, and his wife, Kim; her cherished grandchildren, Elijah Church, Parker Church, Layla, Braxton, and Grayson Church; her siblings, Jeannette Amash, Georgette Couch, John Amash, Jim Amash, and Jerry Amash; and a host of nieces and nephews.
She now joins her husband, James and her brother, George Amash in eternal rest.
Julie loved the sounds of the 70’s, the pull of the ocean, and the simple beautiful moments shared with those closest to her. Her life was a quiet but powerful testimony of love, service, and enduring grace.
She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the blessing to know her.
A funeral service will be held to honor her life on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane beginning at 2:00pm. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 12:00pm-2:00pm at the funeral home prior to the service.
