Kathleen "Betty" Young Barnwell

Betty Barnwell passed away on April 11, 2022 after a brief illness. Betty is the daughter of Fred and Daisy Smith Young and had twelve siblings all predeceased. She was the wife of James Mason Barnwell of Mebane, NC. She had two children, Kathy Wilkins (George) of Mebane, NC and Ronnie Barnwell (Martha) of Charlotte, NC. She has four grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and an eighth on the way. She was a member of Cross Roads Presbyterian Church of Mebane. Betty was a native of Mebane, NC and was educated at Mebane High School and Burlington Business College. She worked for 25 years for Kayser Roth, 5 years at the Atlas Moving Company and 5 years at Melville Plastics.  The family would like to thank Debbie Taylor, the staff of Authoracare and Mebane Ridge for their care and encouragement. A graveside service will be on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at 11:00 am at the Cross Roads Presbyterian Church cemetery.
