CHOCKLEY, Kathryn Elizabeth McAdams- DOB 9/9/1923 After several years of declining health, Kathryn Chockley passed away on Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at ARMC. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herbert Patton and Nannie Weaver McAdams, husband, George “Mike” Malcolm Chockley, and son George McAdams Chockley. She is survived by her son Joseph Patton Chockley (Ann) and her daughter in law Betty “Bj” Woodard Chockley. Also surviving are her grandsons Andrew, Josh (Sammy), and Zack (Cristyle) as well as great grandchildren Eli, Lucas, Liam and Trinity. Born in Orange County, she was raised on a tobacco farm and graduated from Aycock High School. During WWII, she worked at an ammunition depot in Newport News where she met her future husband, Mike. They returned to her family farm to raise their two sons. She briefly worked for Western Electric in Burlington and retired from Burlington Urological. She was a member of Cross Roads Presbyterian Church and greatly involved in Women of the Church, VBS activities, Board of Deacons, and Elders. She and her husband enjoyed many years of traveling after retirement. Visitation hours will be Friday, July 28th, from 6-8 PM at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane. A graveside service will be held at Crossroads Presbyterian Church Cemetery on Saturday, July 29th, at 11:00 am. At other times, the family will be at 4112 Lynch Store Road, Mebane, NC 27302.
