BURLINGTON - Mrs. Kathryn Willie Ray Johnson, 95, a resident of "Alamance House," 2766 Grand Oaks Boulevard, died at 1:37 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, at Cone Health Alamance Regional. She was born in Chatham County to the late Marvin Willie Ray and late Nettie Campbell Ray and was the wife of the late Julius Edward Johnson. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Clayton Johnson. Mrs. Johnson was a member of Piedmont Baptist Church where she served for many years in the Sunday School as secretary. Surviving her are two daughters, Laurel McGinnis and husband Bill of Burlington and Linda Hassell and husband Robert of Greensboro; sister, Allene Walker of Graham; six grandchildren, Richard Reid and wife Stephanie of Elon, Michele Salerno of Burlington, Mark Crotts of Snow Camp, Tricia Councilman and husband Jeff of Burlington, Lance Johnson of Richmond, Va., Ryan Johnson and wife Ginger of Raleigh; seven great-grandchildren; six great-stepgrandchildren; and a daughter-in-law, Susan Johnson of Stoneville. The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral and Cremation Service, 1030 South Main Street, Graham, N.C., Sunday from 1 until 3 p.m. with a funeral service being conducted at 3 p.m. in the McClure Chapel by Pastor Bill Gillispie, Care Pastor of The Lamb's Chapel. Burial will follow in the Graham Memorial Park. Public viewing will begin at 8:30 a.m. Sunday. The family will receive friends at other times at the home of Laurel and Bill McGinnis, 3116 Raccoon Run Drive, Burlington.
