Mrs. Kathy Wilder Burleson, 65, of Mebane, NC, passed away on Saturday February 25, 2017 at the Duke University Medical Center. A native of Alamance County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Willis Martin “Bill” and Lula Geneva Terrell Wilder. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to many. Her joy and love were her family especially when it came to her grandchildren. She enjoyed family times when she would cook when all of her family were home. She enjoyed fishing, a good cup of coffee and her loving dogs. Survivors include her daughter, Kelly Sykes, of Greensboro; son, Floyd Harold Sykes Jr. and wife Tammy, of Haw River; grandchildren, Tracy Gosnell and husband Todd, of High Point, Floyd Harold Sykes III, of Haw River, and Britnee Ames and husband Dale, of Burlington; great granddaughter, Amelia Gosnell, of High Point; sisters, Carolyn Manuel and husband Ronnie, of Efland, Judy Wilder, of Mebane; brothers, Jerry Wilder, of Efland, Charles Wilder and wife Vivian, of Colfax, Keith Wilder, of Mebane, and Willis Wilder and wife Pam, of Wilmington, and several loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Emmitt Lee Burleson and a sister in law, Becky Wilder. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM at the Calvary Baptist Church in Hillsborough, NC on Tuesday February 28, 2017 with the Pastor Buddy Wright officiating.
