Mebane Katie Susan Clayton McAdams, 76, of 1020 Trollingwood-Hawfields Road in Mebane died Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at her residence. A native of Person County, she was retired from the textile industry and the Presbyterian Home of Hawfields. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and a friend to everyone. She was loved by so many people and touched so many lives. She will be missed by many. She was the daughter of the late John Monroe and Mary Beaver Clayton. She is survived by her husband, Walter G. McAdams; children, Sharon D. & Billy Harris, Mary Jane & Kenny Wilson, Donnie Lee & Lila Bowes, Barbara McMillan, Lola & Jimmy Gammon; brother, Jerry Nelson Clayton; grandchildren, John Harris, Tammy Solomon, Jennifer Wilborn, Susan Cassey, Jason Wilson, Robert McMillan, Karen McMillan, Dustin Gammon, Dalton Gammon and 16 great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2:00 PM Friday at McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane by Pastor Jim Florence. Burial will follow in Phillips Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday from 1:00 – 2:00 at the funeral home before the service, other times at the residence.
