Kenneth Harold Palmer

HAW RIVER - Mr. Kenneth Harold Palmer, 87, passed away Monday, April 6, 2015, at Alamance Regional Medical Center. Mr. Palmer was born Aug. 5, 1927, in the Town of Richmond, R.I. He was the son of the late Winfred Palmer and Elsie Bliven, retired as a construction engineer after 35 years, and served in the Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. He was lifetime member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local #3 of Fresno, Calif. Kenneth enjoyed fishing, yard sales and was very active in his local community. Surviving are son, Charles Palmer of Fresno, Calif.; daughters, Sharron Palmer of Rancho Cordova, Calif. and Joyce Dannes of Cleveland, Ohio; brother, Charles Palmer of Concord, N.C.; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Preceding him in death were his wife, Amada Palmer; and a daughter, Debbie Palmer. A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, April 8, 2015, in Grace Baptist Church cemetery, Greensboro, N.C. Officiating will be Pastor Brian Dehart. The body will remain at McClure Funeral and Cremation Service of Graham until taken to the cemetery for the service.
