Krystal and Jeremy Sheppard

Krystal Kirby Sheppard, 50, and Jeremy Allen Sheppard, 27, of Prospect Hill, went together to be with their Lord and Savior on Wednesday, August 5, 2026.

Kristy was a loving daughter, mother, family member, and friend whose presence brought warmth and joy to everyone around her. She loved gardening and enjoyed spending time at the beach and in the mountains. Above all, Kristy loved her family, especially the children. She had a special way with children and loved being surrounded by them. She was the link that helped hold the Kirby family together, always doing whatever she could to keep everyone connected and close. Kristy truly lit up every room she entered, and her beautiful spirit and loving heart will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Jeremy was known for having one of the biggest hearts anyone could ever find. He was always willing to help someone in need and would do anything for the people he loved. He cherished his family and friends dearly, but his greatest love was for his little girl, whom he loved with all of his heart. Jeremy shared an especially close bond with his mother, Kristy. He was, as his family lovingly described him, a true “mama’s boy,” and he always wanted to be by her side. Jeremy also adored his cousins and their children. He loved picking on them, making them laugh, and doing whatever he could to help and care for them.

Kristy and Jeremy shared a bond that was incredibly special, and they will forever be remembered for the love they had for one another and for their family. Their absence leaves a tremendous void in the hearts of all who knew and loved them, but the memories they created and the love they gave will live on in their family and friends.

They are preceded in death by their parents and grandparents, Billy Kirby and Belinda “Kay” Kirby; and their brother and uncle, Kenny Kirby. 

Krystal and Jeremy are survived by their husband and father, Kevin Sheppard; daughter and granddaughter, Kaezleigh Sheppard; grandparents, Jerry and Pat Sheppard; their nieces, nephews, and cousins, Brittany, Tiffany, Cameron, Ashlyn, Bayleigh and Logan; 8 great nieces, nephews, and cousins; many aunts and uncles; and several close friends.

A graveside service will be held to honor their lives on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, beginning at 1:00pm at Kirby Family Cemetery.

The family would like to extend their thanks to the Caswell County Sheriff’s Department and the Prospect Hill First Responders.
