Larry Jay Pickard

BURLINGTON - Larry Jay Pickard, 63, of 1138 Gattis Ave. in Burlington, died Saturday, Aug. 10, 2013, at the Hospice Home in Burlington. He was a native of Alamance County, retired as a sales associate for United and Monumental Insurance and was a member of Orange Chapel United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, J.W. and Marjorie O'Daniel Pickard.He is survived by his son, Steve Pickard and wife Tina, of Graham; daughter, Christy Helms and husband Billy, of Gibsonville; sister, Kay Pickard, of Pittsboro; grandchildren, Tommy, Taylor, Caitlin, Harrison, Hunter, Mason, Hailey Kay and Chloe. He is also survived by his girlfriend, Teresa Hopkins, of Stoneville.Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at Orange Chapel United Methodist Church conducted by the Revs. Carl Belcher and Ricky Cox. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at McClure Funeral Home in Graham on Monday from 6 to 8 p.m., other times at the residence of Steve Pickard, 250 Dixon Road, Graham, and on the day of the service at the residence of Kay Pickard, 1499 River Road, Pittsboro.Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Alamance/Caswell, 918 Chapel Hill Road, Burlington, NC 27215.
