Leo George Hoover Sr.

Mr. Leo George Hoover Sr., 91, of Mebane, NC passed away on Sunday August 11, 2019 at his residence. A native of Randolph County, NC, he was the son of the late George Newton and Josephine Pierce Hoover. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and a family man to everyone he knew. He was the founder and operator of Hoover Custom Cabinets in Mebane and he was a proud veteran of the US ARMY serving 22 years as an active and reservist member. Leo loved to spread the word of the gospel and just enjoyed talking with people about the Lord. He also spent many years working with the Gideon’s International helping to share his love of being a Christian. Leo enjoyed his many trips over the years with his loving wife and family. Survivors include his wife of 67 years, Beulah Oldham Hoover; daughter, Nancy McBroom and husband Paul; his sons, Henry Hoover, Donald Hoover and wife Pam, David Hoover and wife Tammy, and George Hoover Jr. and wife Karen; his grandchildren, Jamie, Jessica, Justin, Keith, Madelyn, Jeff, Jessie, Hayden, Jakob, Kanaan, Kalynn; 9 great grandchildren; his sisters, Ozetta Bunker and husband Fred, Martha Hoover, and Hilda Lowery and husband Dale, and his many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Doris Hinshaw and a brother, John Hoover. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday August 15, 2019 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane with the Pastors Odell Link and Ronnie Jones officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 11:00 until service time prior on Thursday and at other times at the residence of the family. The family would like to extend a special thank you to all of the caregivers, friends, neighbors and family who showed their love to Mr. Hoover during this difficult time.
