GRAHAM - Mr. Leslie "Les" Andrew Hiles of Graham, NC went to be with the Lord on July 13, 2014. He was a native of Cincinnati, Ohio and moved to North Carolina in 1976. Mr. Hiles was happily married to his wife, Apolonia Ruiz Hiles, for 29 1/2 years. They enjoyed traveling around the world together and spending quality time with family and friends. Mr. Hiles was a loving husband, father, brother, son, uncle and friend. His positive attitude and love for life inspired many - especially his nieces and nephews who adored him. He was an avid bowler who gained local respect for his 300 score game in 2005. He rarely missed watching a North Carolina Tarheels game and always appreciated a conversation about his favorite team with another fan. He was a loyal employee and dedicated 32 years of his career working in a quality lab as a supervisor and engineer. Mr. Hiles was also very loyal in his faith. He was a parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Burlington, NC for over 30 years. Even as his health declined, he dedicated his spare time to serving others as a hospice volunteer. Mr. Hiles lived a full life with those he loved. His family and friends will cherish their memories with him and continue to live their lives as he did - with love, joy, patience, compassion and gratitude. "Our goal should be to live life in radical amazement. Get up in the morning and look at the world in a way that takes nothing for granted. Everything is phenomenal; everything is incredible; never treat life casually. To be spiritual is to be amazed." Abraham Joshua Heschel.
