Levert "John" Junior White

February 17, 1935 — June 25, 2024

Snow Camp

Deacon Levert Junior White affectionately known to most people as “John or Paw Paw” was born in Alamance County, North Carolina to his loving parents, Mr. Rezzie White and Mrs. Sibbie Burnett White on February 17, 1935. He peacefully slipped away from time into eternal rest on June 25, 2024 at UNC Hospital, Hillsborough, NC.  Deacon John was an extraordinary person with a humble servant’s heart and a gentle spirit. He was never reluctant to serve. He was always willing to lend a helping hand wherever he could. Down through the years Deacon John was a hardworking man. He worked at Siler City Mills for 25 years. He also worked on the dairy farm for 30 plus years. He was known for making molasses and planting acres of gardens at a time. We thought he would never get to the end of all those rows. Deacon John loved the Lord. He strived to serve and mimic Christ in all that he did, He served on the Trustee Board for many years; a member of the Burnett’s Chapel Senior Choir; and a devout Sunday School Member. Sometimes he would be the first person on the church grounds and sometimes he would even arrive two hours early. He especially loved his Sunday School Class. The most memorable moment in Paw Paw’s life was when Reverend Stanley Burnett ordained him as a Deacon of Burnetts Chapel Christian Church. He was so proud to be a Deacon. Deacon John loved reading the Bible first thing every morning. He enjoyed farming, fishing, watching his westerns and his favorite movie was “The Lion King”. He loved to listen to gospel music and he enjoyed a good sermon. It is difficult to describe someone who has meant so much to so many people. Paw Paw’s departure has left a deep void in the hearts of all of us. His life was a life well lived and a job well done “Thou good and faithful servant”. Deacon John was preceded in death by his wife, Mrs. Corrina Fox White, who passed in January, 1995. His legacy will be carried on by his brother Norman White, better known as Nick of the home in Snow Camp,NC. He leaves to cherish his memory Daughters; Minister Jeannie Alston; Mrs. Marjorie Cheek (Mike); Mrs. Marlene Jones (Bennett); Lenora White; and Jennifer White. Sons: Anthony White; Randy White (Cheri) and Levert Jerome White (Karen). His Grandchildren: Torrey White, Latisha White, Joshua Baldwin, Desmond Cheek, KeAndra Walker, Nicholas White, Trevor White, Mitchell Millikan, Steven Millikan , Kendrick Walker, Kristopher Walker, Kaleb Walker, Nykira Hardy and Olivia Luck and a host of Great-Grandchildren, nieces and nephews.  Visitation will be held on Sunday June 30, 2024 from 12pm-1pm at Burnett's Chapel Christian Church, the funeral service will follow at 1pm in the church.
