Libby Cecil

Elizabeth "Libby" Morton Cecil, 79, passed away on Thursday April 6, 2017. She was born June 17, 1937 in Scotland County, NC to Emmitt and Pearl King Morton. Libby loved growing and taking care of her flowers. She also stayed busy daily doing the work of the Lord. She was a member of Glen Hope Baptist Church. She enjoyed completing and mounting puzzles, giving away numerous finished pieces over the years. Survivors include her daughter, Debbie Phipps, of Pensacola, FL; her son, Sam Henry Cecil of Pensacola, FL; her brother, Robert Morton, of Mississippi; 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. A memorial service for Libby Cecil will be held at 4 pm Friday at Glen Hope Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church from 2:30 - 3:45 pm, prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Jennifer and Damson Huon, Missionaries in Cambodia, % Glen Hope Baptist Church, 911 North Avenue, Burlington, NC 27217.
