Miss Linda Carolyn Ball Allred, 78, of Mebane, NC, went home to be with the Lord on the morning of July 11, 2025, at UNC Chapel Hill hospital. She was surrounded by family and love at the time. She was born in Roxboro, NC, on January 19, 1947, and was raised by Johnny Bass Ball and Lila Chisenhall Ball. Linda was an active and devout member of her church at Lebanon United Methodist Church for over 50 years and was always there for anybody who needed anything. At a young age, she met her soulmate, and they lived a happy and meaningful life. She had early medical complications, but that did not stop her from living her best life. She became the backbone for this family. During her working years, she worked at a mill. When she wasn’t at the mill, she enjoyed watching children. Above all, she was known as Maw Maw, always making sure everybody was okay. She took care of everyone around her and I know now, she is being taken care of in heaven. She leaves a lot of memories that we will cherish forever and she will never be forgotten.
She leaves behind a brother; two grandkids; and two great grandkids.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Ted Allred; and both of her kids, Brian Allred and Wendy Handy.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, July 18, 2025, at Lebanon UMC beginning at 2:00pm. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 17, 2025, from 6:00pm-8:00pm at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane.
