In Loving Memory of Linda Byrd Horn

Linda Byrd Horn, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2025, leaving behind a legacy etched in the hearts of her family and friends.

Her legacy lives on through her family who adored her deeply – she leaves behind Steve Horn, her devoted husband for the past 57 years; her grandchildren Alexis Horn (John), Ryan Horn, and Seth Horn, her great-grandchildren Willow Horn, Ophelia Love, and Vera Love, all whom brought her immense joy and pride. She was preceded in death by her cherished son, Shannon Horn, a brother, Thomas Eddie Byrd and her parents, Edgar and Vergie Armstrong Byrd.

A woman of strong Christian faith, Linda poured her heart into her family.  She and Steve married just two weeks after he returned home from serving in the Army in 1968, beginning a lifetime of shared strength and love. Linda’s unwavering faith in God deeply influenced Steve’s own spiritual journey throughout their marriage. Her devotion was especially evident during his most challenging health battles—she stood by him without hesitation, every step of the way. She helped to care for her grandchildren with a watchful eye and warm heart, ensuring they always felt safe, seen, and spoiled—with their favorite treats never out of reach. Holidays at her home were filled with love, laughter, and the comfort of everyone’s favorite foods.  She listened without judgment, offered help without hesitation, and loved without condition.  A steadfast pillar of support, Linda’s commitment to family has always been evident.

Though we mourn her passing, we celebrate the life she lived so fully and the love she gave so freely. Linda’s legacy isn’t only in the traditions she carried on, or the meals she prepared with care but in the family she cherished, and the lives she shaped with her unwavering love.  She will be missed beyond words and remembered with hearts full of gratitude.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday July 8, 2025, at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with the Pastor Neal Brantley officiating. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Tuesday.
