Linda Kay (Phillips) Stokes

Click here to view the livestream for Linda Stokes Mrs. Linda Kay Phillips Stokes 70, of Mebane, NC passed away on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at the Hospice Home of Burlington. A native of Hillsborough NC, she was the daughter of the late William Homer Phillips and Geraldine Wilson Phillips. Linda was a caretaker at heart as she looked after her mother for years doing her duty to her family and she always put the needs of others above her own. Over the years, she enjoyed all the beach trips with her family and finding herself on the casino boat every once in awhile and an avid lover of Mickey Mouse and the Carolina Tar Heels. Linda loved the Lord and attended church when she was able, but nothing put a smile on her face like her family, especially her son and grandchildren. Survivors include her loving son, Christopher Odell Stokes and wife Brittany; her special grandchildren, Dillen Odell Stokes and Becklea Kay Stokes; a foster son, Jacob Owen Mote; her brothers, Wayne Phillips and wife Brenda, Dwight Phillips and wife Edna, and Kenneth Phillips; special cousin who is more like her sister, Carlene Kendrick: her best friend since childhood, Peggy Phillips, and her many loving nieces, nephews, and extended family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Robert Lee Phillips, and Richard Calvin Phillips. A service to celebrate Linda’s life will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday November 17, 2023, at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Mebane with the Pastor Joel Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:00 Noon until 1:00 PM prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home, and other times at the residence of her son, Chris and Brittany Stokes. Burial will be held in Rosewood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to AuthoraCare Hospice at 918 Chapel Hill Rd. Burlington, NC 27215.
