Linda Gourley Rufty

Mrs. Linda Gourley Rufty, 72, of Mebane died May 18, 2017 at Alamance Regional Medical Center. She was born in Rowan County on August 15, 1944, the daughter of Robert and Pauline Perry Freeman Gourley. An electrical engineer, she retired from AT&T after twenty years of service. Mrs. Rufty was of the Baptist faith. She was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. An avid dog lover, she also enjoyed painting and spending time in her garden. Mrs. Rufty lived life to the fullest, and was always seen with a bright smile on her face. Survivors include her son, Stephen Rufty, of the home; daughter, Suzanne R. Sosa Perez, and husband Manuel; 5 loving grandchildren; and cousins, Cynthia Smith, Kimberly Smith, Deen Moore and Todd Perry. The memorial service for Mrs. Linda Rufty will be held in the chapel of McClure Funeral Home in Graham at 2 pm Sunday, May 21, 2017. The family will receive friends following the memorial service.
