Lissie Suitt Wood

Mrs. Lissie Suitt Wood, 81 of Burlington formerly of Piney Creek, NC passed away on Thursday October 24, 2019 at the Edgewood Place in Burlington. A native of Alleghany County, NC, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Nannie Taylor Suitt and the wife of the late Charlie Wood. Lissie was known for her sweet smile and her ability to bring joy to others around her. Over the years Lissie had made hundreds of “Pot Holders” to give to family and friends as she loved to give to everyone. She knew her way around a kitchen as she always enjoyed cooking and baking for her family. Survivors include her daughters, Debbie Brewer (Murphy), Kim Billings (Steve) and Lisa Eubanks (Steve); her loving grandchildren, Kaela Wheeler (Terry Jr.) and Justin Brewer (Jessica); 7 great grandchildren; brothers, JC and Dale Suitt; and her loving sisters, Patty Euliss, Irene Billings and Louise Warden. In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her granddaughter, Kelly Joines and her brothers, Robert, Everette and Ray Suitt. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday October 27, 2019 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with the Pastor Jeff Knudson officiating. Burial will be held at 2:00PM on Monday October 28, 2019 at Chestnut Hill UMC in Crumpler, NC. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Sunday, and other times at the residence of the granddaughter at 3248 Midway Church Rd. Elon. The family of Mrs. Wood would like to extend a special Thank you to the nurses and caregivers at the Edgewood Place as well as to Hospice for their love and care shown to Mrs. Wood during their time with her.
