Lloyd Eugene Wentler

Lloyd Eugene Wentler, 76, died December 5, 2016 at Alamance Caswell Hospice Home of Burlington. He was born in Elkhorn, Wisconsin on September 11, 1940, to George C. Wentler and Mary Ann Carruthers Wentler. Lloyd Wentler was retired after 43 years of service with General Electric in Decatur, IL and Mebane, NC. He and his wife, Barbara Newlin Wentler were also owners of BJ’s Square Dance Apparel and enjoyed traveling with their business to square dances across the United States seeing the sites and making new friends. Lloyd was a member of Hebron United Methodist church for 30+ years, a Masonic Brother of Eagle Lodge 19, and also served in the US Army. Survivors include his daughter Deanne Wentler Greeson and husband John Greeson of Mebane; son Curtis Wentler and wife Lenore Latta Wentler of Edgewood, WA; grandchildren Lacey Wentler Wolak, Charles Wentler, and Lewis Wentler. Brothers- Cloide Wentler, Donald Wentler, George Wentler; sisters- Jean Lindgens, Virginia Murphy, Mary Edith Wentler, Echo Reeves, and Sandra Columbo. He was preceded in death by his wife of 49 years, Barbara Newlin Wentler, and his parents George C. Wentler and Mary Ann Carruthers Wentler. Visitation will be on Thursday December 15th 6-8 pm at McClure Funeral Home in Mebane. Funeral service will be conducted by the Rev. Bryan Sexton at Hebron United Methodist Church in Mebane on Friday, December 16th at 11 am. Burial, with Masonic rites, will follow in the church cemetery.
