Lois Walker Elmore

Lois Walker Elmore, 81 went home to be with our Lord after a long and valiant fight with cancer. Lois was a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She worked tirelessly for her famiiy at Dixie Yarns for 35 years before retiring. She was a member of Chestnut Ridge United Methodist Church. Lois is preceded in death by her parents, John and Lizzie Walker; her loving husband of 59 years, Gordon; a sister, Ruby Barts; and a granddaughter Brooke Elmore. She leaves behind a devoted daughter, Gloria (Randy) Clark of Haw River; three loving sons, Mick of Efland, Jason (Debra) of Mebane, and Michael (Paul) of Mebane; a sister, Ruth Moore of Cedar Grove; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; and devoted friends Landa Latta and Tracy Howell. Family will receive friends on Friday evening from 6 - 8 pm at McClure Funeral Home of Mebane. A celebration of her life will be conducted on Saturday at 2 pm at Chestnut Ridge United Methodist Church, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Visitors are invited to the home of Jason at other times. McClure Funeral and Cremation Service of Mebane is assisting the Elmore family.
