Lorena Long Talley

Lorena Long Talley, 93, of Mebane, NC, born on May 10, 1922 passed away at her home Tuesday December 29, 2015. She was of the Baptist faith and attended Lea Bethel Baptist Church, worked for Kale Knitting before going to work for General Electric of Mebane and retired from there. She enjoyed traveling and going to the coast with her sister fishing as long as they were able and was a member of the Mebane Go-Getters Club. She is survived by a son Dan Talley and wife Lounell of Prospect Hill, daughters Jackie T. Knott of Roxboro, Roanne T. Roland of Graham, Joanne Talley of the home, one sister Florine Robertson, 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, 3 step great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren. Preceding her in death was her husband Jack C. Talley, son Samuel T. Talley, parents Herbert J. and Hassie Whitfield Long, brothers Thurman Long and Wilmer Long, sisters Naomi L. Talley, Christine Davenport` and Mary Lou House. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 1, 2016 from 5:30pm until 8:00pm at the McClure Funeral and Cremation Service 1308 S. Third Street, Mebane, NC other times at the home. A funeral service will be held 11:00am Saturday, January 2, 2016 at Lea Bethel Baptist Church, Prospect Hill, NC officiated by the Reverend Calvin Sacra with burial to follow in the Cooper Cemetery.
