Louise "Lulu" Hinshaw Thompson

Mrs. Louise “LuLu” Hinshaw Thompson, 94, of Snow Camp, NC passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023, at White Oak of Burlington. Mrs. Thompson was a native of Alamance County and was the daughter of the late Alvah and Mary Griffin Hinshaw. Louise worked at Carolina Koury Hosiery until she retired. After retirement she worked part-time as a parking booth attendant for UNC pay operations until her husband, Ray needed her at home as his health declined. Louise was a member of the Snow Camp Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary, always making sure to support Ray in his community involvement with the fire department and Ruritan Club.

In addition to her parents, Louise was preceded in death by her husband Ray Thompson, her siblings, Alene Payne and Howard Hinshaw, and her granddaughter, Amanda Stone.

Mrs. Thompson is survived by her daughters, Linda Stone and Connie Harris (Jerry), her grandchildren, Heather Atkins (Paul), Anthony Dean, her great-grandchildren, Mekala White (Swanson), Kayla Dowell (Devin), Taylor Atkins, Gracelyn Dean, Macy Atkins, Raylan Dean, her great-great-grandchildren, Nova White, William Black, Salem Louise Dowell, and other extended family member that were dear to her.

The service will be held at Cane Creek Friends Meeting in Snow Camp, NC on Wednesday, February 15, 2023, beginning at 3:00PM. The family will receive friends at the church an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow the service in the Cane Creek Church Cemetery. Following the burial there will be a gathering in the Fellowship Hall.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cane Creek Friends Meeting General Fund or Cemetery Fund PO Box 611, Snow Camp, NC, 27349

The family would like to thank the staff at White Oak of Burlington who cared for her since July 2022. And a special thank you to Shayon Walker and her son Mason for the care and love they provided on the weekends.
