Louise Sykes, passed away peacefully on March 23, 2025, at the age of 96. Born on November 27, 1928, to George and Margaret, Louise's life was a testament to the power of kindness, dedication, and the joy found in simple pleasures.
She was a guiding light to her family, including her daughters, Emily Thompson, who preceded her in death, Francine Clayton, and Margaret Boggs. Her legacy of love continues through her grandchildren, Chris Vance (Kim), Laura Everett (Kevin), Tommy Teague, Amanda Teague, and Ricky Thompson, as well as several great-grandchildren who will carry her spirit forward.
Her brother, Frank Scully, also preceded her in death, but the bond they shared remains an integral part of her family's history.
Louise's passion for life was evident in everything she did. She found solace and joy in her flower garden, where she spent countless hours nurturing beauty for all to enjoy. Her hands were rarely still, as she delighted in the art of sewing, creating countless treasures that will be cherished for generations.
Her faith was the cornerstone of her existence. Louise was a devoted member of Mt. Hermon Church, where she not only worshipped but also served by teaching Sunday School. Her lessons were filled with love and wisdom, touching the hearts of many and leaving an indelible mark on her community. In her later years, she attended Christ Church in Burlington. In honoring Louise’s wishes, no formal services will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dementia Society of America at https://www.dementiasociety.org/
