Ms. Luella "Skeet" Watkins Burnette, 95, of Burlington, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 16, 2025. A native of Alamance County, Luella was the daughter of the late William and Rena Miles Watkins. She spent her working years at North Graham Elementary, where she retired. Luella will be remembered as a dedicated wife, sister, daughter, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Burnette is preceded in death by her husband, Weldon Brown Burnette; her siblings, Geneva Hayes, Renaldo Watkins, William Watkins, Alton Watkins, Sonya Slade, and Sudie Jeffries; and her son in law, Anthony Lea, Sr.

She is survived by her daughters, Patty Lea and Linda Mitchell (Robert); her grandchildren, T.J. Lea (Dulce) and Ashley Lea; her great grandchildren, Elijah Lea and Evan Lea; her siblings, Emmagene Slade, Ravon Watkins, Lawrence Watkins (Paulette), Laura Morrow, and Vicky Wiley; and her sister in laws, Alfreda Watkins and Jattie Watkins.

A funeral service will be held for Ms. Burnette on Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Martin’s Chapel Baptist Church beginning at 11:00AM. The family will receive friends from 10:30AM-11:00AM prior to the service at the church. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
