Mrs. Lyda Hinton Driver, 98, of Graham, NC, passed away on Saturday May 27, 2017 at the Alamance Regional Medical Center. A native of Johnston, Co, NC, she was the daughter of the late William Bragg and Addie Wilder Driver. She had retired from the Baptist Children’s Home of North Carolina as she and her husband were foster parents for many in need. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Graham and had been a Sunday School Teacher in different Baptist Church’s for over 50 years. She proudly attended the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and she loved to cook for her family and friends. One thing about Mrs. Driver was that no matter where she was or who she was around, you could always hers her singing her old hymns with a smile on her face. Survivors include her daughter, June Beckerdite and companion Gary Rippy, both of Burlington; granddaughter, Tracey Allen and husband Danny, of Graham; grandson, Douglas Thompson and wife Patty, of Southern Pines; great grandchildren, Chase Almany, Miranda Almany, and Nicholas Thompson and many loving nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband, Leon Edward Driver; and her loving brothers and sisters. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday May 31, 2017 at the McClure Funeral Home Chapel in Graham with the Pastor Travis Russell officiating. Burial will follow in Graham Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service on Wednesday at McClure Funeral Home in Graham. in Lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice of Alamance/Caswell at 918 Chapel Hill Rd.
